I'm not exactly looking for a book recommendation but rather for a specific book that I read 15 years ago (2009). I've been trying to find it for days and I just can't remember the title or the authors name.
Here is what I remember:
– definitely popular fiction
– it's a love after grief story with a female protagonist who in the beginning of the book is grieving her husband or boyfriend who died and spends her days in her pajamas isolating from friends etc
– it plays with the theme of inexplicably lost items, like socks that go missing in the washer, and the place where these lost items go plays a role in the story
Some further possible clues where I'm not sure if I remember them correctly (might be incorrect):
– I think the author was female and one of those very productive romance novel writers (like Nicholas Sparks). It wasn't Nora Roberts though, I think…
– Title or cover of the book might be rainbow-related?!
Hoping to find some peace of mind this way…
