I recently dropped a book that I was rather excited for called the lost story by Meg Shaffer but it was inspired by Narnia and it got me really wanting to read a book about adults returning to the fantastical lands that they got isakai to as children.

    Bonus points if it includes

    • Queer characters and themes.
    • if MC finds being the "hero" is harder now.
    • if MC doesn't want to do this again.
    • if things get a little dark.
      OR
    • if MC is too hyped to be a hero again.
    • if MC never adjusted back to they're "normal" life after the first adventure.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read and for any suggestions you might leave.

    1. Seanan McGuire is your go. Her “Wayward Children” series fits this brief almost exactly.
