My reading has slowed down a bit this year (probably life stuff) and I’ve been on a bit of a David Mitchell binge to catchup on the novels I missed (I had only ever read Cloud Atlas and Jacob de Zoet which became 2 of my favourite books).

Well I’m now completely saturated and stuck in my own little preference bubble and struggling to get started on another book.

I would love an absolute off-the-wall suggestion for something to reset my tastes a little.

The last book I truly adored was Demon Copperhead. I don’t read much literary fiction, mostly because I’ve never given it a chance. Otherwise I’ll normally gravitate to books like Mitchell’s, spy fiction, the occasional human story and science fiction.

Would love to hear of any left field books that you swear by and frequently recommend.

    Thanks in advance. 🙂

Spy fiction cannot be better than John Le carre and his British Mi5 vs KGB saga of Smiley vs Karla.

Also try Tom Clancy and his Jack Ryan series
