I haven’t read very much at all, really only going through the bodies of work of H S Thompson, Bukowski, and, most recently, Kerouac. Kerouac took me almost 8 months since every book was more self absorbed than the last. I enjoyed bits and pieces of them but my god, it was like he was going for a world record of making uninteresting observations. I really thought I was burnt out of reading, but I picked up a couple Mario Puzo novels, The Sicilian and Fools Die. I got through them in only a few weeks and have never had more fun with reading. I haven’t really read a nonfiction story since I was a kid. Please help me get caught up with all the novels I missed, I want more of these morally complex stories that are fun and beautiful. Brothers Karamazov is on my list next, for reference. Thanks!
