    Hi everyone,

I’m looking for book suggestions to change up my mom’s reading routine. She’s a very devout Catholic, and for the last 10 years, the only books she’s read are from the Bible. However, she’s not necessarily intolerant or closed-minded; she’s just had few opportunities to expand her reading list.

From what she shares about her Bible readings, I’ve noticed she’s really interested in stories about tests of faith, life lessons, spiritual growth, and trials. I also know she likes to reread books. In general, I feel that she enjoys the idea that there are good reasons for life’s challenges. So, I’m looking for recommendations that are less religious (though spiritual themes are fine), but that still touch on this topic, to help her diversify a bit and slowly broaden her horizons.

The first book I thought about recommending to her as a change, but not something too abrupt, was Siddhartha by Herman Hesse, which is a book I really like and, honestly, the only one I have the patience to reread. I’d love to hear any good suggestions from you all that I could gift her.

    Thanks a lot!
