I'm currently in the hospital and this should be a great opportunity for me to get some reading done. The problem I'm having is that I can't concentrate on my books. It's either medical staff interrupting me or my mind goes about a billion miles an hour thinking about what's going wrong with me.
I think what I'm looking for are books that are easy to follow but will hold my attention, and an added bonus would be if it could take my mind off my current situation.
I read such a wide variety of books and enjoy most genres with the exception of romance and hard Sci-Fi. The few I have tried since I've been here, and know I would normally enjoy are The Book Thief, The Housemaid, Caraval, and House in the Cerulean Sea.
Any and all suggestions are welcome thank you 🙂

I recently really enjoyed Legends and Lattes, by Travis Baldree and The Spellshop, by Sarah Beth Durst. Both are cozy fantasy, so I found them super comforting, but at the same time, they have interesting characters and the plots held my attention.
Wishing you a swift recovery and that you’re able to go home soon!
A book I recently couldn’t put down was The Only One Left by Riley Sager, kind of a psychological horror/mystery. I rated it a 4/5 (I haven’t rated a 5/5 this year unfortunately:( )
But it was genuinely a book I couldn’t put down
Well wishes with your health <3
I did a lot of eye spy books and comic books. Like mutts or Calvin and Hobbes. I recommend them for hospitals and surgery.
You need to read the witches books by terry pratchett!
My all-time favourite book is The Poisonwood Bible by Barbara Kingsolver. An American family is uprooted to Africa when the father takes on missionary work, and every member reacts differently as their lives change and they are caught up life and politics. It’s written from multiple different perspectives, and is absolutely fascinating. It’s a hefty book too, so will give you something to get stuck in to.
