    I spend a fair amount of my time reading. I love it. However, I tend to go through books at an alarming rate. Lol.

    I need some suggestions on books to read. My typical requirements are these:

    1) Needs to be a series. I hate reading singular books. They’re too short and I don’t get a satisfied feeling from them.

    2) Fantasy, romance, courtly intrigue (by this, I mean is centered around a monarchy), mythical creatures, pre-modern settings. These are the types of genres I tend to read, not in any particular favorite order.

    For example;
    – Tamora Pierce’s entire “Tortall” series (began reading them when I was a child). It’s mostly fantasy and magic with a tiny bit of romance mixed in. Also her “Circle of Magic” series. I would not consider it romance at all, but has a good fantasy aspect. (Also read as a child).
    – Sarah J. Mass’s “A Court of Thorns and Roses” series. I just finished that a few days ago. Good mix of romance and action, with magic and mythic.
    – Jennifer L. Armentrout’s “Flesh and Fire” (and “Blood and Ash”) series. Read that entire series twice in the last year. Again, good mix of romance and action. Love the whole gods (or Primals) and magic creatures being part of it. Got a bit of everything, it feels like. Romance, action, magic, adventure, humor, smut, revenge, fantasy.
    – Kiera Cass’s “Selection” series. Very cute, quick series that’s mostly romance but is also in a courtly setting.
    – I’ve read “50 Shades”, but honestly that much smut is so dang hard to read. I seriously don’t need 32 pages describing an intimate scene that doesn’t play any part in advancing the story.
    – Tracy Wolff’s “Crave” series. Also read that twice in the last year. Super heavy on the mythical/magical/fantasy, but also set in the current day and age. Has some court intrigue, romance, action, humor. Very good blend of genres.
    – I have of course read (and reread) “Harry Potter” and “Twilight”. Both fit perfectly into my genre of books I like to read. I’ve also read the entirety of the “Eragon” series (except “Murtagh”), the “Uglies” series (this pushed my limit on being readable by an adult), the “Princess Diaries” (vastly different from the movies. I was shook), “The 100” (also vastly different from the TV show), “Shadow and Bone” (refused to watch the show until I read the books…hated the entire show), “Red Queen” series (loved this one a lot), about half of the “Witcher” series (was way too slow. I couldn’t get through it without falling asleep), and the “After” series (discovered the books after watching the movies. Wow did they downplay Hardin in the movies!)

    3) Has to be readable for an adult. I’m 33. I’ve read some books that were a free first book in the series, but couldn’t get past book one. Brenda K. Davies’ “Shadows of Fire” for example. Has great ideas, but the writing was so bad I could barely make it through book one. Kel Carpenter’s “Heir of Shadows” was the same. Great ideas, but the characters are all copies of each other and nobody has a personality of their own.

    4) Would prefer longer books. I read exclusively on my iPad/iPhone, so it also needs to be available on iBooks. I try to find books that are 400+ pages and hopefully have three or more books to the series. Books that are less than 300 pages are typically disregarded simply for the length of them.

    5) Last but not least, I have been absolutely devouring enemies-to-lovers and slow-burn novels lately. “A Court of Thorns and Roses” (Sarah J. Mass), “Blood and Ash” (Jennifer L. Armentrout), and “Loveless Brothers” (Roxie Noir) are some great examples of what I’m looking for at the moment.

    Please help! I know that was a big info dump and I can be super picky about what I read…but I want more books to read! They don’t have to be free books. I’m willing to download a sample copy and determine from there if I want to buy the whole book or not.

    Thanks in advance,

    A Desperate Reader That Has Nothing To Read
