i recently read Silver Nitrate by Silvia Moreno Garcia and while its actually one of my lowest rated books of the year (purely to do with the stylistic features and structure) i really loved the occultist vibes and backstory of it.

so i’m looking for books about occultism or occultist themes. i usually like horror and SFF. i’m okay with fiction or non-fiction (from an objective, information lens, i’m not looking to actually study it)

    1. Susanna Clarke, *Piranesi*. It’s more or less a riff on the occultist fiction of Charles Williams though she writes far better.

      *Little Eve* by Catriona Ward.

      >On the wind-battered isle of Altnaharra, off the wildest coast of Scotland, a clan prepares to bring about the end of the world and its imminent rebirth.
The Adder is coming and one of their number will inherit its powers. They all want the honor, but young Eve is willing to do anything for the distinction.
A reckoning beyond Eve’s imagination begins when Chief Inspector Black arrives to investigate a brutal murder and their sacred ceremony goes terribly wrong.
And soon all the secrets of Altnaharra will be uncovered.
