I’ve read a lot of the same books and recently gotten into the wheel of time trilogy. In the third book. It’s got a lot of similarity and feels like a mix of lotr and dune, but moves more quickly

Give Tad Williams a go. His series Memory, Sorrow and Thorn begins with The Dragonbone Chair. Very smart high fantasy. It’s about 30 years old and doesn’t get the love it deserves.

Its not epic in the sense of lotr but if you want a fun page turner full of cool magic series Naomi Noviks schoolmance is awesome.
