ive recently read the red rising series by pierce brown and i absolutely love it, especially the political aspect and how you can never really know who's gonna die (i really dislike plot armour and cliches). im on the last book rn so i would like to know what i should get into next to help me get over my hangover.

what i liked about the series is that there are very complex, distinct and likeable characters. i also like morally grey characters as i find them more relatable. not a fan of those mcs that are 100% good it somehow annoys me like theyre not realistic at all. i also really liked the multi pov, and especially how one of the povs are the antagonist as i could gain greater insight into the villian! (lowkey rooting for him though haha)

i have not read any other sci fi/fantasy series yet, and also i am a relatively new reader (i just started this year) so something that would be easy to comprehend would be preferable (no flowery/overly pretentious prose as im too stupid to appreciate it 😂)

i have thought of picking up the 'a song of ice and fire' series, since ive watched game of thrones and loved it for the same political drama, but i dont really like that i know the plot and it seems kind of useless to be reading it now. also there are certain plots that i didnt really like — (i couldnt care less about the nightwalkers and jon's plot, as well as bran's plot) im really just here for the politics in king's landing

also, it would be a bonus if there's already a substantially large fanbase as i would love to discuss the book with others here on reddit! thanks in advance 🙏
