Prefer non-fiction, but open to fiction around real events. My problem is, a large number of the books I’ve found dealing with spies / spy rings are centered around the US / Soviet spies in the Cold War, and while that’s all cool, it’s very oversaturated. I’m looking for something less modern I guess. Our Man in Charleston about the British spy in the Confederate South is another good example of what I’m looking for.

    1. Redcoats and Petticoats by Kirkpatrick is a picture book written by a women who grew up on Long Island and as a young person interviewed a ancestor of someone connected to the story for a school report. Much later as an adult she wrote this version of the story.
