Looking for an investigation story with romantic tension between the detective and the girl involved in the investigation. I am reading a book where there is a murder case, but I'm not having the relationship I want with the girl and the cop.

You might enjoy the Veronica Speedwell series by Deanna Raybourn. It’s a series of historical mysteries with romantic/sexual tension between the FMC and a man who end up solving mysteries together.
The Cuckoos Calling but you’ll have to invest in the whole series as it’s a slow burn.
