My bf of eight months broke up with me out of the blue and then got married the next week, so I’ve obviously been going through it. I’m not taking joy in tv and movies nearly as much as I did before this whole thing, and I’d really like to immerse myself into a book or series.

I haven’t read many books in about 10 years except the newest Hunger Games book and a bummer called Go As A River.

The books I’ve read before were mostly romance (lots and lots of Sarah Dessen) but I also was and still am into the basic fantasy stuff like Hunger Games, Twilight, Harry Potter.

I’d prefer something that doesn’t have a ton of romance in it, for obvious reasons. Fantasy and sci-fi I guess are the closest genres I can think of that I’m into.

Sorry for the little info on what I want, but I’ve been out of the reading game for way too long!!!

    1. John Scalzi’s **Starter Villain** is the most entertaining book I’ve read recently. It’s a spoof of the early James Bond movies. A substitute teacher inherits his estranged uncle’s villainy which comes complete with a secret volcanic lair.
