long book averse atm so I’m looking for some good short story recs. I love how intentional and impactful they can be and some i like are chess story-stefan zweig, anything by claire keegan and exhalation-ted chiang. Need to feel something lol

Any volume of *Best American Short Stories* (there is one each year).
If you like Stefan Zweig you should check out the short stories of Isaac Babel. The Red Cavalry story collection is my favorite but the Odessa Stories are also very good.
Check if Wolfgang Schnurre has been translated to English.
Of Tales and Enigmas by Minsoo Kang. Lesser known, but a bit similar to Ted Chiang’s writing.
