I read, rather exclusively, classic literature, but I am also extremely moved by emotional vulnerability that I have seen depicted in film. The social mores and codes prevented may of the authors I most love from depicting the same kind of emotional vulnerability. What more modern/contemporary novels give you the kind of open, explicit vulnerability that moves you deeply?
