i stopped reading fiction years ago and changed to non-fiction (as in nature journal scientific papers and stuff) because I could not stand the over embellished writing. The last books I read and enjoyed were:
- Tennessee Williams: cat on a hot tin roof
- Lemony Snicket's series of unfortunate events (yes I know it's a kids book series but it was so good and engaging)
- Miss Peregrine's home for peculiar children
- The maze runner series
- Coraline
Also the Umbrella Academy comics (but don't recommend me more comics, I liked the storyline and characters).
You can definitely tell it's been a long time from the last books I read lmao. But hopefully you can get a sense of the stories I like. Last TV show I watched and loved was good omens and only murders in the building.
So I think I like fantasy? But not a big fan of love stories (except wlw ones might be alright seeing as I'm queer, but it's not a priority).
A lot of people recommended me a court of thorns and roses but tbh I got bored at the start and never finished it.
Thank you!!

How about The Graveyard Book by Neil Gaiman given you liked Coraline?
