hello! i don't know if what i'm gonna say will make much sense, but i'm gonna try to explain myself anyway :')
basically, i was looking for books that talked about friendship, love (mostly platonic), and described dynamics or characteristics that we would find in a "good friend". i need to write an essay on what makes a good friend (?), and usually before i start writing i like collecting quote from different sources that i feel resonate with the topic at hand just to get me in the groove of writing and inspire certain lines, concepts, etc…
i already read bell hooks' All About Love : New Visions because i remember her defining love properly (love was the first word that came to my mind when i first saw the essay prompt) when i first read it a year or two ago, and have already collected all the quotes i needed or found useful or inspiring. does anyone have any books in that same line (preferably not quite self-help, all about love left quite a bad taste in my mouth in that sense although i got some good inspiration from the first few chapters), articles, or really any written literature about friendship, love, how it can influence our lives and what can basically make people read about a certain friendship and/or dynamic and go "i wish i had that"? it can be fiction or non-fiction, i don't mind as long as the focus of the book or story at large is uncovering the beauty/point of friendship (i realize that sounds kinda sappy) and how it can improve ones life.
this is quite rambly but i hope you understand what i'm looking for. thank you in advance to anyone who replies and thank you for reading through all this 🙂
