Any detective book that has it's attention not mostly on the crimes and mystery, but on the characters?
I'm mostly after good characterization, to get inside the detective's world. But whenever i search inside the detective genre, the books there mostly have their focus on the mystery (Agatha style) itself rather than the characters or that they turn unrealistic.
I've tried out Fawkes and Baxter, Mila Vasquez, and Washington Poe. But my favorite till now has been Robert Hunter series.
Any recommendations?
(AND PLEASE none of any supernatural turn!)
