I would prefer a series, or at least a trilogy, but anything is cool. A cool magic system, I am okay with slow burns. With a male main character. I have already read the following:
The Wheel of Time
The Cosmere
The Realm of the Elderlings
The King Killer Chronicles
The Soldier Son Trilogy
The Faithful and the Fallen
The Shades of Magic Series

Everyone has different preferences, but I love the magic system in **Mother of Learning** series and **Alex Verus** series.
Jim Butcher Codex Alera series,
*The Rivers of London* by Ben Aaronovitch
Jim Butcher the Dresden Files.
A Man of His Word, Duncan
The King’s Blades, Duncan
Deryni, Kurtz
Black Jewels, Bishop (all the trigger warnings)
Age of Discovery, Stackpole
Amber, Zelazny
A Land Fit for Heroes trilogy, beginning with *The Steel Remains*, by Richard K. Morgan.
Eragon is similar to the wheel of time. It’s got 5 books
I enjoyed the [Mark of the Fool](https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/61379444-mark-of-the-fool) books.
Lion’s Quest by Michael-Scott Earle. The system is Dark-Souls-esque. It’s the only litrpg I liked because of great action and characters. After book 4, it felt kinda rushed and the author’s tendency for unnecessary sex scenes started showing.
Sandman Slim series by Richard Kadrey
Nightwise 2-book series by R S Belcher
*Sir Hereward and Mister Fitz: Stories of the Witch Knight and the Puppet Sorcerer* by Garth Nix – unfortunately not a series, but an interesting magic system
I’d give the Lightbringer series by Brent Weeks a try.
