A book with the same sense of open-world exploration as Peter Brett’s The Warded Man

Not much to add to the title really. In the book humanity cowers in warded cities leaving the majority of the world to the demons. I loved that with some skill in warding a lot of balls the world opened up for the protagonist in a way it had to so few others. I'm looking for a book with a similar feel to this, if anyone has any suggestions. Thanks
