My local bookshop has a number of Daphne du Maurier books listed as "YA editions", does anyone know what the difference is? Is this just a marketing thing or are they partially abridged for a younger audience?

ISBN 9780349006574 for the YA edition of Rebecca. It's ~15 pages shorter and $5 cheaper than the standard edition by the same publisher. Most websites will have it categorised under YA, or else marked as being for grades 7-9, but otherwise no difference in description to the regular edition. I'm semi convinced to go to the shop and compare line by line my copy of Rebecca vs the YA copy, but maybe asking the question online would be faster.

I wanted to read Jamaica Inn after enjoying Rebecca, but the only edition in stock at the store is the YA one, and I don't want to accidentally buy an abridged edition. (I know I could just find another store that has the book in stock, but I'm too curious to drop it now)

Apologies if this is not the place to ask this, but I literally can't think where else to ask. Please take down if it's not relevant.
