I put the warning just in case, recently i read the "i'm not proud of My son" post and it Made me think to all those awful reddit post of people that seems to be going tru a living nightmare but not because of monsters, but for humanity itself, are there any books that would make me enter in a state of shock because of how realistic and awful it is?

    1. The Blind Assassin by Margaret Atwood

The Wasp Factory by Iain Banks

The Continuous Katherine Mortenhoe by D. G. Compton. This is sci fi, but the sci fi elements are pretty minor. The characters are *very* well written, so that’s why I am recommending it here.
