I was recently reading The Chocolate War by Robert Cromier. I enjoyed the way the author delved into the psyche behind the interactions of Archie (an character tesponsible for executing all tasks of a secret school society, 'The Vigils' who had mastered using tactics of intimidation to get everyone to obey him) and Obie (his errand boy for executing said tasks, he couldn't help but listen or do everything Archie wanted even when he didn't want to, despite all the disdain he felt for him). Basically, you could see why some people can intimidate, and others get intimidated.
I would love to read more books that delve into the psyche of such people, what they're thinking in different situations and what makes them act the way they do. While I currently prefer fiction, I'm happy to read a very good non fiction work too. Thanks!
