Hi, I’m about to start editing the first draft of a book I wrote last year at work (I dictated the whole thing to my phone out of boredom) and I was looking for books in the same vein. The book is about a group of people who formerly fought supernatural creatures at their high school coming back together years later, and all of them have been dealing with the trauma of that in their own ways (denial, failures in life, addiction issues, massive amounts of therapy, etc.) Let’s just say I was watching Teen Wolf and Yellowjackets at the same time and a plotbunny emerged.
Anyway, when I submit I’ll need comps and I tend to read a lot more historical nonfiction than anything else these days (I have a disaster podcast so it’s a lot of shipwrecks and hurricanes over here), so I’m looking for books in a similar vein – dealing with past trauma, fighting monsters being something you just can’t put behind you, the negative effects that saddling all that stress and horror on teens can have.
Thanks for any help you can give me. 😊
