I've always loved analyzing literature that references the human body (ie. Titus Andronicus and the symbolism of dismemberment, Frankenstein contemplating what defines personhood, etc.), and would love to find some other literary analyses on this subject. Would love to see some in horror, but open to anything! (Also, if you have any video essays on the subject, please share those as well!)
TIA!

I’d recommend Susan Sontag’s “Illness as Metaphors”, Leslie Jamison’s “Empathy Exams” (a lot of the essays discuss how women’s bodies and pain is depicted in text). While not exactly anatomical, the texts dig into embodiment, illness and bodies across literary texts.
Bonus: Jamison’s (imo!) best essay from Empathy Exams is available [online ](https://www.vqronline.org/spring-2014/essays/grand-unified-theory-female-pain)for free.
