I would like to read a book from every country in the world, what would you suggest based on my preferences?

If you know of any books that fit my niche I would be extra happy 🙂 but any non-anglo book from anywhere else in the world would be great.

I enjoy historical fiction, gothic fiction, fantasy (preferably no series). I like books that are emotionally heavy but in a literary way if that makes sense.

Some books I love: Wuthering Heights, The Handmaid's Tale, everything ASOIAF, The Neverending Story, The Color Purple, Anna Karenina, Mistress of Rome, the Wolf Den Trilogy

I generally dislike: detective style novels, badly written or over-sexualized female characters (this is a huge one, it's why I prefer female authors), stuff that feels like YA.

I would be so happy with any suggestions you might have. If it doesn't fit these preferences but it's a great book, that's fine too.
