    1. I, too, am in my late 20s. I personally enjoyed Kindred by Octavia E. Butler a lot. The main character is in her late 20s which is why I recommend it here, but it’s the kind of book you could read at any point in your life.

    2. Solanin by Inio Asano-slice of life, manga, one large volume, soul crushing, relatable, revitalizing

The sharper your knife the less you cry by Kathleen Flinn -aubiogtaphical non fiction women hits rock bottom and how she decides to change her life in response emotional

Bitter is the new Black by Jen Lancaster. The 1st of several autobiographical books. Its relatable and funny. Life basically kicks her in the teeth, and this is how she kept going.

    3. Jennifer Egan’s *A Visit from the Goon Squad*. There are a lot of characters, and the novel covers a long time frame, but at one level it’s about how lives intersect and influence others.

Min Jin Lee’s *Pachinko*. It covers generations but I’m recommending it because the central character deals with life, family, tragedy, love, and sacrifice.
