    1. The handmaid’s tale by Margaret Atwood. I absolutely loved the show and have heard so much hype about the book. The pros are spectacular… But in my opinion, it’s just a bit too much. I mean, I get what she was trying to do. She was trying to put us in the isolated mind of the main character. But still. It just drags on and on and on and on. There’s basically no plot. I’ll probably get downvoted to oblivion for this comment but that’s OK. This is just my opinion lol

    2. Creation Lake by Rachel Kushner 🫠 I set out to read most of the Booker Prize nominees this year and I usually read the shortlisted books at the very least but I’m struggling with it horribly. I’ve been trying for a month now and I’m still only 60 pages in and keep putting it down, I just can’t get into it and lose focus every time.

Mason & Dixon. I love Pynchon’s big books, but it takes me several tries to get a few hundred pages in with momentum and I’ve bounced off of M&D several times trying to get there. Some day I’ll make it, but not yet…

    4. I’m struggling to read The fall of hyperion. I’m enjoying it but not really in the right headspace for it

    5. I’ve come close to finishing Moby Dick twice but just didn’t have the steam for the last leg either time.

melmoth the wanderer 😭 it’s beautifully written and i love that it inspired dorian gray but </3 it feels unnecessarily long and has me looking up words every ten pages

Anything by McCarthy. This guy thinks he is so good – it’s pretentious gobbledygook.

    8. Alone with you in the ether I know would have enjoyed it moreeee if I wasn’t in a slump
