My husband is a very picky reader. He loves books with very grumpy or otherwise odd people in them like ‘The crying miller’ by Arto Paasilinna and a book with a guy and a talking dog in it that got snowed in in a mountain cabin (don’t know the title) by Paolo Cognetti.
He loves nature, mountains, solitude and main characters who are loners in a way. I also feel like he loves the more darker novels.
He absolutely hated ‘Walden’ by Henri David Thoreau that I bought for him, but loved all the other books I bought for him by the two other authors above. He now has them all and I don’t now what I can buy for him that has the right ingredients, because I found out I really can’t go by only a small description on the cover and on internet it’s unexpectedly hard to find good recommendations.
What would you recommend?
