I enjoy reading books that explore emotions, feelings, and the psyche. A few examples of books that resonated with me are Crime and Punishment and The Alchemist. Their focus on one's life purpose, actions, and their consequences really piqued my interest. I also recently finished One Hundred Years of Solitude, and its exploration of conflicts, solitude, regret, and nostalgia was absolutely enthralling. In the context of self discovery, Silas Marner was a book which deeply moved me.
I don't mind if the language is a bit complex, although I might struggle with extremely difficult vocabulary and styles.

If you liked *Silas Marner*, you might like these two books by Balzac: *Le Père Goriot* and *Le Cousin Pons*.
