The plot starts with 2 early humans, a man and woman from rival tribes meeting then basically connecting but still ending up fighting and dying after falling over a waterfall together. then they continuously experience reincarnation throughout centuries like in ancient Egypt or Greece and medieval Europe but each time they always experience some tragedy which prevents them from being together until finally the modern day comes where their modern equivalents finally embrace at a museum school trip after kind of sensing each other. I read it so many years ago and have been curious to find it again yet haven’t had much luck.
