Just about to finish The Dark Tower series after previously reading and loving ‘The Stand’ – what other long stories can I get lost in of similar ilk?

I loved the character development of The Stand, and the mix of fantasy/real life of King’s writing. As a teenager I enjoyed fantasy/thriller/horror and after a period of factual reading, I’m diving back in again.
