Me and my girlfriend is been on a struggle on how to deal with each other lately when it comes to communicating and whatsoever. I'm the youngest son. I learned a lot about how to handle attachment styles and learning about how people think through reading some of the psychology books available, but I want to learn how older daughters thinks, what they want, what do they need, and what can I do in certain situations. Idk… I just want to know more about her. I want to do my best in handling her. Sounds cringe but, I love that girl so much that it's much easier to be knowledgeable and know more about her than leave her just because she was having trouble expressing herself. Anyway, if there's something you could suggest, I'd be happy to read. Thanks y'all!

This isn’t specifically about birth order, but I think everyone in a heterosexual relationship, but especially men, would benefit from reading “The Second Shift” by Arlie Russell Hochschild. It’s about gender-based imbalances in household chores and emotional labor. While it focuses on married couples with children, it’s totally applicable to couples who don’t have kids and/or aren’t married. I think it will be very illuminating about the responsibilities that women are expected to take on in a relationship that are often invisible to their partners.
