I love Stephen King and his down-home, folksy style of writing about creepy/terrible things that happen to relatable characters in typical American settings – mainly small towns. However, I vastly prefer his works that don't involve a supernatural element (Misery, Cujo, The Body, Apt Pupil, Mr Mercedes, Dolores Claiborne), or where it's present but the focus is more on the characters (Needful Things, Carrie, The Stand… actually quite a lot of King's works).
I also happen to love crime novels, especially those with serial killers and/or a mystery element.
Can anyone please suggest a good book which marries these two things?
