so basically i’m looking for a book with an unreliable narrator. i really liked ‘remains of the day’ and ‘the great gatsby’, whilst im currently reading ‘lolita’ and ‘american psycho’. i also read ‘the girl on the train’ and ‘one of us is lying’ but it wasn’t really my fancy. i’m not a huge fan of fantasy but i’ll definitely give it a go ! please help 🙂

Good Material by Dolly Alderton
Atonement by Ian McEwan. Nice and subtle example of what you’re looking for. Also a good entry point to his books.
I remember reading lolitha by Vladamir nobokov. It was my introduction to unreliable narrators. These are a few that come immediately to my mind when I think of unreliable narrators:
The ocean at the end of the lane by Neil Gaiman
Bunny by Mona Awad
Rock paper scissors by Alice feeney
Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte
Rebecca by Daphne Du Maurier
Deadpool: Paws by Stephan Petrucha is an excellent example of an unreliable narrator, especially considering the nature of the character of Deadpool even he doesn’t know what is real and what isn’t at any given time, and since he’s the narrator, it does present a problem in the old reliability department. 🤣
The Housemail by Frieda McFadden
