hi! i (18tF) have never used this subreddit before sooooo hopefully this works out lol

could somebody recommend me a book including romance, whether its a romance book specifically or if that's just a subplot, between a trans woman and a guy?

i've read If I Was Your Girl by Meredith Russo (and didn't like it) and Almost Perfect by Brian Katcher (which i actually really loved despite its many issues), and I just DNFd A Lady for a Duke by Alexis Hall when i got to the sex scene… it… well, it wasn't my cup of tea.

i don't really care if its a cis author or a trans author as long as it is written respectfully… hey, the one I liked out of the ones i've read was by a cis dude and isn't liked by the trans community from what i've gathered, so I'm also fine if it's considered "problematic" … just as it doesn't fetishize the experience. i want the characters to feel real, is what i mean. not perfect, not irredeemable jerks, just like real people 🙂

I also like angst as long as it feels real. not just angst for the sake of angst, you know? like i want a lil existential dread but not to the point of becoming "preachy."

happy endings or sad endings welcome … but i love bittersweet endings 🙂

so thank you and happy reading 🙂 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
