I have a hard time getting into new things, like books, but I really want to read more. I've read a few books I really liked – both books I've finished so far being by the same author – but I have a hard time finding books that are what I want to read.
I'm really into Dungeons and Dragons, which got me into reading Vox Machina: Kith & Kin from Marieke Nijkamp. And then I read At the End of Everything from her as well, which I finished surprisingly quickly. I loved the latter book a lot, but I'm mainly looking for recommendations that are more like the former. I wanna read a story about some fantasy adventure (preferably with a good bit of traveling, I seem to gravitate towards that kind of media).
What's made this even more difficult is trying to find a book without a focus on – or a surprise – romance. I don't mind romance, but I really don't care about it. I do really like a focus on a deep bond between characters, but I'd prefer it being non-romantic. Like in Kith & Kin, I absolutely loved the focus on the deep bond between the twins. But most books I come across, I feel like they're focused on – or include – a heavy bit of romance.
Sorry for the rambling. Also, in terms of age-range, I'm looking for mostly young adult books, I think.
