I’m looking for both historical fiction and nf books that are female centric or lean heavily into exploring community. Preferably Britain during and post Roman occupation. It’s interesting how domestic duties and the overall contribution by women has been so pivotal in managing and continuing community – and still is – but is so very often under appreciated or acknowledged.
In the same vein I want to read more about small and ordinary goodness in every day life, people coming together under hardship, and compassion and sisterhood despite the patriarchy.
I’ve enjoyed so much adventure fantasy and gorgeous myth retellings but now I want to peer behind the scenes. Please drop your recs! <3
