I want to see everyone opinion on this
To me I feel it’s uncomfortable for me and probably would be for others if they knew. Depending on the level of spice I’d say it could possibly be similar to watching an R rated movie or scene in public or even p*rn but like I’m a hiding your screen way.
If I’m reading a book in public that’s not a really spicy book and a scene comes up that’s only like making out then I’ll go ahead and read it but if it’s a wedding night chapter in a book I know is definitely full of spice then imma stop reading it and read it at home.
I feel like it’s weird to read something like that in public. Even if others around you don’t know I feel it’s still odd.
But recently I was on a flight and the woman sitting next to me was reading (from a physical copy so I clearly saw what the book was) Icebreaker by Hannah Grace. Now I haven’t read the book but it’s very popular online so I know that it’s very spicy.
I just felt sorta uncomfortable knowing that she was probably feeling a certain way while sitting next to me like to me that’s just not a book you should read in public.
I must say she was really into it though opened it up when we boarded and read it the entire flight no breaks even for take off and landing lol.

I feel like the first few times it’s kind of awkward but now I do it without shame 🤣 I primarily listen to audiobooks when I’m out and about and right now I’m binging the Ice planrt barbarian series 🤣💀
Bonus points if the cover art is discreet
Personally I guess I just try and distance myself from people in general while in public so unless they’re being really weird because they’re reading a spicy book I don’t really notice.
I hate the new use of “spicy”
