I read a decent amount of books (anywhere between 25–60) every year. Unfortunately, I find that I can barely remember the plot of most of the books, except for the central overarching theme, even as less as 6 months later.
I've tried the usual methods, such as annotating and active reading, as well as writing goodreads reviews for each. But they don't seem to work too well.
I understand that there are biological and cognitive differences that affect each person's recall abilities, but if you guys have any tips to remember what you read, please do share!

Unfortunately I don’t. I remember that I read them, and I can pick out main points, and remember if I liked it or not. But unless it’s a book that really dug in, it’s gone.
