Hi all, my husband is looking for more books to read. He is fairly new with reading for pleasure and only really likes certain things. He has been very picky. So far, he only LOVED Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas and 2001: A Space Odyssey.
What would you recommend for him, based off of those 2 books alone?

Dungeon Crawler Carl. Just because I have yet to find a person to read it and say….eh that was ok. Everyone who I recommend this to have greatly enjoyed it.
Also. Fear and loathing might be one of my favorite books.
If he liked Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, maybe try some of Hunter S. Thompson’s other books. Fear and Loathing on the Campaign Trail ‘72 is a great follow up, and Hell’s Angels and The Rum Diary are must reads in his body of work.
Definitely Andy Weir’s Project Hail Mary and The Martian. These are very popular right now but like 2001 are very well written with a small cast of characters.If he he has seen The Martian go ahead with Project Hail Mary
The next two books in the 2001 series are really good. I actually enjoyed 2010 more than 2001. It feels more like an Arthur C Clarke joint than 2001 and has better characterization. I also think it has a more interesting climax.
