**Bullet Riddled: The First S.W.A.T. Officer Inside Columbine and More by Grant Whitus** I think it fits the prompt well but I personally rated it 3/5
**41D: Man of Valor: The Story of SWAT Officer Randy Simmons** disclaimer: I have not read this one so cannot say if it is any good.
Not necessarily swat memoirs but potentially
**Homicide: A Year on the Killing Streets by David Simon** this book is definitely worth the read.
**Gang Leader for a Day: A Rogue Sociologist Takes to the Streets by Sudhir Venkatesh** doesn’t follow the police aspect but more so the intricacies of a low income area. However, I think it could be worth a read for any police officer.
**We Own this City: A True Story of Crime, Cops, and Corruption in an American City by Justin Fenton** for the negative side of what some police will do. It is about corruption within a police unit and it may not be what you are looking for. They also made a miniseries which was well done based on the book. I gave it a 4/5
Not necessarily Police based but potentially of interest
**American Sniper by Chris Kyle** I feel as if it kay be in the realm of SWAT as it is a “high speed, low drag” type of thing if you know what I mean but potentially not as I have never been LEO myself.
