I would say this book is not appropriate for a 14 year old. This book is more “New Adult” which is geared towards 18+. It contains explicit scenes for dark romance which should be consumed by someone who is an adult and understands the genre.

If you don’t mind books with the lead being a girl you can try The Cruel Prince by Holly Black. Although it’s more of a political fantasy with a pinch of romance.
Then if you like manga you can try My Hero Academia by Kohei Horikoshi.
Then I recently got into a new Author and his name is Bryce Gibson. He mentioned his books are 13+. His tiktok is County Line Horror and he writes horror books.

Everybody else is saying no because of your ages (which I agree with) but I wanted to let you know I would’ve said no even without that. The books are not good writing, really intense and some scenes are awful. This is not a book to start reading again with. I actually had to take a bit of a break from reading after I finished it. (Because I know if someone told me know because of my age when I was a teenager I would have done it anyways because that’s not enough of a reason for me).
If you tell me what kind of books you like, I might be able to give you some recommendations of what to read instead.
