I want to start reading books as I go to sleep but reading any kind of tense or scary stuff really doesn’t put me in a good mood for sleep. I really want to find authors and books that are light and positive, would love some suggestions!

I love Andy Weir for bedtime stories for myself. I used to only be able to fall
Asleep watching tv, but the quality wasn’t that great because of blue light. So I switched to audiobooks, which works awesome for me.

Andy Weir has great, lighthearted, hilarious, creative, and optimistic novels that are great as an ebook or audiobook. By far, my favorite audiobook of all time is **Project Hail Mary**, which is a sci-fi adventure narrated in first person by its protagonist, a lovable nerd who has woken up with no idea where or who he is, but soon discovers he’s been sent on an interstellar suicide mission to save humanity. **The Martian** is also great, which is about a lovable nerd stranded on Mars. I’m not a huge sci-fi fan, but these books are sci-fi light – tons of crossover appeal, with just enough sci-fi to be interesting, but not so much that you have to wade through layers of lore or technical jargon.

If I want a bit more fantasy/romance vibe, I love **The Princess Bride** by the incomparable S Morganstern (wink wink). If you haven’t seen the movie, plan to watch it after you finish the book! If you have, the book might be even better. It’s the absolute pitch-perfect rom-com set in a fantasy-light world of princesses, epic duels, and, of course, Rodents of Unusual Size.
