I love books written by actual English authors, using the fun words that I heard when visiting London. “Rubbish”, “bin”, “dodgy”,”cheeky”…I think you get the picture. Please suggest a series of novels reflective of that style. I like mysteries, intrigue, tea shops, old libraries and I am ok with a little bit of love. Ready…set…suggest !

I never get to suggest Bob Mortimer’s *The Satsuma Complex* but it sounds like a fit. If you don’t know him, he’s a national treasure, a comedian, and most certainly not a world class author. If you’re expecting Dickens, don’t read it. It’s not going to be the best thing you ever read, but it’s a good (and quick) read.
Here’s a synopsis:
>My name is Gary. I’m a thirty-year-old legal assistant with a firm of solicitors in London. To describe me as anonymous would be unfair but to notice me other than in passing would be a rarity.
