I have been in a reading slump and would love some suggestions. I’d love something fiction or historical fiction around 300-400 pages. Nothing too “light.” Not a fan of beach reads or romance. Thrillers are okay, but please no horror. I want to feel something. My favorite books give me new perspectives and widen my understanding of other people’s lives. Some of favorite books to get a feel for my style:
Station Eleven (and all Emily St. John Mandel)\
A Thousand Splendid Suns\
Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close\
Dry (and all Augusten Burroughs)\
How High We Go in the Dark\
The Plum Tree\
Moon of the Crusted Snow
Thanks!

Absolutely loved ‘The Orphan Keeper’ by Camron Wright.
The Lovely War by Julie Berry
Anxious People by Fredrik Backman
The Dutch House by Ann Patchett
‘A Fall of Marigolds’ by Susan Meissner
Based on your ‘Moon of the Crusted Snow’, Have you read the Cork O’Connor series by William Kent Krueger? They are mysteries, but they deal with the Anishinaabe.
