I’m going to take a break from the Star Wars: The High Republic series for the month and want to pick up a different book for the time being, but I can’t decide between The Dark Tower 1: The Gunslinger, ‘Salem’s Lot, or Horror Movie by Paul Tremblay. Ideally looking for a quicker read that’ll keep me hooked, but also open to ‘Salem’s Lot since I want to read that before I watch the films. First time poster here, thanks for the input!

The Dark Tower isn’t truly a horror novel, more of an amalgamation of high concept sci-fi/fantasy with some horror elements.
‘Salem’s Lot, however, is a quintessential horror novel, and despite being thicker than what you’re looking for is paced very quickly so you’ll burn through it. Read ‘Salem’s Lot.
