Hopefully this is allowed here. I tried perusing comic related subs for a place I might post it there, but didn't find one – if someone knows of a suitable one, please point me in that direction!
Anyway, I've recently been reading the Sandman comics, and really enjoying the strange and dreamlike storylines and art. I've heard that Constantine's stuff can occasionally go in that same sort of vein, and I'm interested in the character himself, so I thought I'd try it out. But as there are almost 40 years of content for him, I'm not too sure where to start.
Some notes – I really prefer that the art be interesting and have some personality to it. I also have more of an interest in John's more magic-based adventures, rather than the grittier, detective-y stories that some of his stuff seems to bend towards. (I accidentally started myself out with reading Constantine: Good Intentions, and that was… yeah.) And anything with a pronounced queer bent will get rocketed to the top of the pile.
