I just finished listening to the audiobook for “Fiend” and its abrupt ending had me sitting there in silence for awhile, trying to work out what I’d just listened to. Did Chase stay at the door with KK until they both died, him on one side her on the other? Or was him taking more drugs at the end supposed to indicate he’d chosen them over her and he was never going to change for her? That he was going to go it alone until he eventually ran out of drugs or died.
