So I recently got into Joanne Harris books and they are (mostly) good. But I really, really disliked The Chocolate. Maybe it is because I saw the movie first and loved it so much but I just could not figure out VivienneĀ“s behaviour. I am so glad they changed the ending in the movie because she was seriously just a bad person at the end. I am not going into plot details but whoever read it, knows what I mean.
To betray your friend like this and just leave is an awful thing to do. I also felt the characters were more fleshed out in the movie than in the book.
Otherwise, I really like most of her books – especially Gentlemen and Players but The Chocolate for me missed the mark
